Geometry only — texture coordinates,
materials and vertex colours are not carried through. Decimating a
UV-mapped mesh correctly is a much harder problem, and mangling your

What actually shrinks MP4 files
Constant-quality (CRF) is the right default: it spends bits where the picture needs them instead of wasting them on still shots.
Target-a-size works out the bitrate from the duration and the audio track, so a file that must fit a 25 MB limit actually fits it.
The preview encodes a three-second sample with byte-identical settings, so you can see the artefacts and the projected size before committing to the whole file.
Dropping the resolution is the single largest saving available — 4K to 1080p removes three quarters of the pixels.
